What to do ?
So after way too long a wait I finally got cluttered garage space opened up and brought in my poor Rallye and soon to dive in to some tear down but hung up on which way to go. As my overdue fresh 350 assembly should happen this month maybe I have considered just putting it in my wagon as a good pump gas driver and just dropping the chassis out from under the Rallye after the clip is off. Its just that I previously was just gonna get Rallye running and driving before any of that so I could have a little fun in between body work but I hate to delay the actually tear down so I can make it nice. That 350 build of mine would be backed by a 2400 stall and the 3.08's in the wagon and allow me to still bracket race except now to drive to the track on pump gas instead and add exhaust etc all while charging up AC and other nice things the wagon needs. Its just that I really think since the wag is cleaner and already a driver. Or do I just go as first planned get Rallye on road/track and later drop the frame with the drive train in it to do the frame detailing and repairs ? Either way the 455 Pontiac will come out sometime this year as I also expect to have the wags original engine ready to go back in later this summer maybe. So 4 speed patina drags in the Rallye this summer or 350 cruiser and some drags with ported head big valve 350 in the wagon ?
PS: Either way I plan to get the wagons fenders replaced/straightened out first between the two

Id leave the Poncho 455 in the wagon and drive/race it. Leave the fresh built 350 for the rallye to enjoy!
If the Rallye doesnt have any major body rust issues then a full refresh can wait. Otherwise I would just do a complete rebuild/go through of the suspension/brakes/drivetrain and get her back on the road with some cleanup of the engine bay and interior. Thats what I'm doing with my 66 since the body/paint is good enough for a driver and I have no major rust.
