Vista Cruiser Help

Hi Everyone,

I've attached two photos of a part that I can't figure out where it goes. The shop that painted my car gave me a box of nuts and bolts and some parts like this and I can't think what it might be.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim

Hmmm, the 'ol 7704305. Not that that helps.

I know, I searched the internet thinking maybe there was a data base somewhere but that didn't help. I think it is an interior part since I that is what I hadn't really taken out when I dropped the car off. I didn't know that they were going to gut the interior or I would have done it myself.

I'm not positive, but that clip reminds me of the clips under the carpet that retain the black plastic wire harness "conduit" that runs from under the dash to the rear trunk area.

Hello! Is yours a 3 seat Vista? Found a diagram on p B240 of the '73 edition of the Olds Parts and Accessories catalog that shows a nearly identical piece (pn7704305) on the floor behind the second seat where it meets the jump seat. They call it "cover, second 2/3 seat belt protector at inner link," Hope this is your mystery part! Karen

Karen,

Yes, it is a 3 seat Vista. I had a feeling it had to do with something with the middle seats since that is what they removed. I will have to look again to see how it might have mounted.

Thanks,
Jim
