T-3's

Anyone have any suggestions on the best place to purchase repo T-3's. Are they any good?

Prats place (139) has them, so does Year one (159), I can't remember if there is someeone cheaper, I may have some bookmarks on those, I thought I found them somewhere at a decent price though I did not buy them. I have one original one still left.

Ive got em in mine, bought em at NPD. They work fine, are a little brighter than the originals but are still pretty dim. I usually drive with all 4 on. And they are still not as bright a new cars lights.

There is a wrecking yard in the Dallas area that has a bunch of cars with T-3s.
Not sure what pattern you want. I picked up a Cutlass headlight assy. with two T3's for about 7 bucks...
I noticed there were a lot of them around. Some of the cars had rotted wide whitewall bias ply tires, too!

I think Lectric Limited is the company that makes them. I am not sure if they are cheaper than that though I do remember about 3 years ago they were selling them for around $100.

Most junk cars with them still only have the high beams, which hardly ever got used. Low beams are a pain to find and most likely will smoke and pop when first installed.

As Rob said, be sure you get the right pattern if your wanting your car to have the original look. I used to have a reference that showed the different ones and what years they were used but can't find it! John

'68-'71 has the ribs in the triangle for Guide T-3 four light systems.
They started using the AC Power Beams in '72?

A guy on evibay has them for $97.95 plus shipping, 14 bucks shipping to here from Florida.
He also very slyly has a pic of a hat with a Chapped Foose autograph to throw them off and his website name on it in the listing. He sells them on his website along with other stuff.
Same price more or less but no messing with evilbay.

They look like the real deal, USA made, nice looking box.
Lectric Limited has them for 129 bucks, made by Wagner. They are very likely the same bulbs, probably connected with LL at that price. The guy even has the Lectric Limited illustration for identification from their site PDF in the evibay listing, also has a pic guide for other years.

They are upgraded and brighter than the originals. The old ones are worthless, the turn signal is brighter at night.
With the old ones you hardly have any bugs attracted to your car at night and the deer in the road don't freeze in the basically non-existing headlight beams, so that is one advantage?
The problem is that you just run the giant rats with antlers over when they're crossing the street because you can't see them, anything in the road is at great peril.

I'll be getting one set, I can switch between my goat and Vista for shows.
I can pinch a penny until Lincoln screams.
