Super 88 pickup

Well I made my way to Belen this Saturday for the 4th annual Fat Sats car show. And I expected to be the only olds in attendance... again. But I was surprised to find this gem there as well. I talked with the owner Kathy and her husband and brother and they were all happy to tell me of the cars history and of their father building it when it was still considered a new vehicle. And what a crafstman thier father was! I suspect if Olds had built a pickup it would have looked much like this. You see, this was thier dad's support vehicle for dirt track and sprint car racing and was apparently well known on the circuit. Her brother Robert explained to me that a fellow racer/ friend of thier fathers liked the car well enough that he built one for himself! so here it is CO. Unrestored and driven regularly with the original engine and trans. Gotta love it!

Nice car, almost looks like Professional car, possibly a funeral flower car.

Well her dad built it himself and he was a gearhead/ racer. That's him in the black and white photo. In the same album was a pic of him in front of his buisness the sign said painting contractor, I believe it was automotive.

1954 Olds pickup

Thank you so much Joe for your post. Actually, the vehicle was done by my grandfather, Pappy Noe, the dirt track racer, and my dad, Bobby. It was such a pleasure to meet you!
