Something Wrong

My 72 442 has the 'fasten seat belts' pod on the dash and I've been trying to get it working....no luck until today. I happen to have the car in 2nd with belts not fastened (because I was leisurally cruising my neighborhood and obeying the speed limit) and the light/buzzer came on. When I put it back in neutral and then drive, the light doesn't function. Another part of this equation, the back up lights come on when the car is in neutral. So, it seems, I'm off by a gear somewhere. What could be wrong? The car seems to drive fine othewise but there is a disconnect somewhere.

Right. It should still be at the base of the steery column, as it is also connected to the steery wheel lock mechanism.
In the picture below, the switch is right above the "S" mark on the column. "S" stands for switch, right?? Hmmm....

Easiest way to ajdust, is with engine off, gear in reverse, loosen the two screws on the switch, and move switch until reverse lights come on, then carefully snug the screws.

Thanks for the help guys! Rob, the pic was awesome. I can see that I'm going to have to limber up some before hunting that switch down. Maybe yanking out the seat will give me the clearance I need to bend my old body at that angle!
