Shifter ID

Picked this up the other day and was told it may be from a 79 Cutlass/442.
I am not sure what one looks like however and it was missing it's handle.
The only #'s I could find are 2 19 81 on the top left rear of the unit.
Anyone have any idea? Here are a few pics.

most of a Pontiac GTO lemans Firebird type shifter...69 70ish...just a standard shifter..they where also offered in a slapstick type dual gated style in those years for performance oriented car

i think they used the basic shifter in malibus 73 up monte carlos etc... lemans camaros and firebirds..youre missing the car specific mount brkts

If the stick moves side-to-side, it's the Pontiac "slap stick" shifter. Sort of a ratchet shifter, by pushing the stick to the right and forward, a small pawl only allows one gear upshift at a time, like a poor-man's dual gate. I installed one in my first 1968 VC, in a stock 68 console.

Owned a 1970 Grand Prix for over a year before I figured out what the 3-2-1 on the right side of the shift gate was for... but once I did!

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess it must be a regular 3 speed shifter.
I oiled it up, seems to work fine. If anyone can use it, $45 + the ride.
