Sending Unit (One or Two Lines???)

Good morning. I am replacing my gas tank and was told that I should replace the sending unit as well. While ordering the sending unit 'the parts place' rep asked if I needed a one line or two line. I have no clue! Could someone help me out please??? THANKS!

Crawl under the car and look along the right frame rail and off of the top front of the tank. The models I'm familiar with are either 2 or 3 lines. Not sure what would have only 1. You'll just have to look.

Oh, BTW, I just installed a new tank from Rock Auto, perfect fit. If I recall, it was about $130 shipped to my door. Google for a 5% coupon.

I assume you are talking about the fuel lines and not the wires. The two line sender is for cars with the fuel return line. These were usually either A/C cars or high performance cars that would have had high underhood temps. Look at your fuel pump - does it have three lines or two? Three lines = two line sender, two on pump = one line sender. Of course, if you get the two line sender and don't need the return line, simply cap it.
