SEM interior paint

I have heard that SEM interior vinyl paint is best for redyeing plastic parts on my 71 Cutlass Supreme convertible. I have been checking into it and I haven't found much info on what is available and where to get it. I have a blue interior and am planning on ordering seat covers and side panels from Legendary. The plastic around the folding armrest on my split bench is all discolored and chalky. I have a extra seat that's green that has a better plastic surround. Can you guys who have used SEM or some other brand of interior paint give me some info and your ideas/thoughts about this? Thanks, Greg.

I had the same question when I did my interior earlier this year. I asked Legendary and they said a company called Kolor Korrect has the correct formulas for all of Legendary interiors. I bought the pearl white from them and it was a perfect match to the new seat covers and door panels. However, they are expensive, so be prepared, and yes, they spell with Ks.

Thanks guys, I haven't called legendary yet but I will ask them about Kolor Korrect. Yeah this whole project will be expensive. I already found one MAW. It appears my left top cylinder has leaked some fluid on the floor under the rear seat. Might as well fix that while everything is apart.... on it goes....

Can you give me a URL to Kolor Korrect. I have searched but could not find a site listed for them.

All I was given by Legendary was their phone number, which is (732) 846-1044. Their address is 217 South Adelaide Ave , Highland Park, New Jersey. 08904. Their email is kolorkorrect@yahoo.com Their invoice indicates Mopaint, and not Kolorkorrect. Perhaps that is their corporate name.

Thanks. Mopaint does not work either. I will call them and let you know if they have a site.

A few years back I was giving the now ex-wifes 89 Bronco II a freshening up(new carpet, headliner, etc) The soft vinyl armrests discolored over time, they went from tan to an ugly blue-gray,it ruined the look of the otherwise mint interior. The local parts store had a good selection of SEM products. I found a spray bomb tan that was pretty close(they also sell it in pts. & qts. that can be tinted) They have adhesion promoters & recommend a clear coat over the color(low gloss or gloss). The stuff worked really well,it didn't peel off, wear off,it was impressive, especially on a high wear item like the drivers armrest that you have to grab to close the door. I would definitely use their products again.

Thanks for all you replies, I got your PM, Fred. I ordered the stuff from Legendary yesterday. They told me about Kustom Kolor also. I attempted to call KK but went to voice mail. It was New Years eve so maybe they were closed. I will talk to them later. I started a thread under Interior and Trim. Check it out if you like. Thanks, Greg
