Rear control arms
The problem here is that Olds never sold the bushings alone, only the complete arms with bushings installed. The aftermarket lists replacement bushings, but they are not correct. The OEM bushings have 5/8" I.D. sleeves. All the replacement bushings have 1/2" I.D. sleeves, so the original bolts don't fit. It is possible (with a lot of effort) to push our the sleeves in the new bushings and replace them with the sleeves from the old bushings. This strikes me as unacceptable after paying nearly $100 for a pair of bushings from Rare Parts.
Thats why Iput in custom made control arms fro Spohn.

I just ordered a pair of the rare parts bushings, didn't know about the bolt size! I am not a fan of pushing the bushings center out, however a couple of solutions come to mind. One, machine the center bushing spacer to 5/8" or install flanged bronze bushings in the control arm mounts. The machining would cost as much as the new bushings. The bronze bushings and new grade 8 1/2" hardware about $5 a hole and then there's after market.
