Radio delete on 84 hurst
Radio delete on 84 hurst
As some of you might know, I am aspiring to obtain one of ever hurst olds made. I have come across an 84 which might be a rare car, but not sure . The car has approximately 80 k and was ordered radio delete with a window sticker that shows this . I know earlier years had this , but did not think later years did. Any opinions on this . Thx
For 1984 the Radio Delete code is UL5... However, according to the 84 CSM the option was not available for G-Body... The window sticker is not always the best proof of factory options, the build sheet or SPID is more factual from the factory...
Thanks , I feel better knowing it was actually an option but not on g body , does anyone know why this was . I am more familiar with the 70 models , where should I look for build sheet , normal places ?
Check on the under side of the trunk lid for the SPID (Service Parts Identification) label... The build sheet can be under a front seat or the back seat... If you can provide a pic of the SPID, it will most accurately assure you of the radio delete option...
looks like it to me.nice.back when the quad442 came out a buddy of mine was a salesman at the olds dealer and he tried like hell to get me to buy one.i said if i can get no a/c,radio delete, carpet delete and crank windows i'll buy one.he never asked me again so i figured it wasn't gonna happen.
That is correct... If factory installed/deleted, UL5 should appear on the SPID... If the dealer deleted the radio and added an earlier face plate trim such as PN 562067, the window sticker could have been modified to show a radio delete feature/option...
None of this is odd or rare per say. Back in late summer of 88 a local Buick dealer to me had 8 New grand nationals,( yes you could still buy a new "87" GN in late summer of 88, I won't get into those details on this thread) All of them were strippers. No radios/PW/PL/PA/ No climate control/ Etc. Nothing. Which is super rare/Odd for a GN if you know anything about them.
It happened. BTW the dealer sold them all for 8K over sticker.
