Question on’69 headlight adjusters

Noticed driving one night high beam on Passenger side aimed down.
went to adjust and it looks like turning the adjustment screw does nothing.
seems like they are stripped or rusted.

Notice that adjusters are available, but how hard is it to replace the riveted adjusters, or even to pull entire headlight assembly for paint.
also, I was wondering if the bolts holding assembly on back side are silver plated or painted black.
thanks for assisting,
mike

I moved your post to it's own thread instead of resurrecting an old one. It may be that the bucket slipped out of the slot in the adjustment screw/s.

Restoring headlight assemblies

Does removing 69 442 headlight assemblies require removing/moving the front bumper?

my adjusters are stripped out and I am not sure I can rivet new adjusters while assembly is in place.
any thoughts?

thank you for your reply,
mike

Rivet? I thought they were plastic and popped in.

The new supplied adjusters come with pop rivets for the mount.

The bumper has to come off as well. There's probably a way to take the headlight surrounds off without removing the bumper but I've just always found it much easier to do it without the bumper in place.
