Oil Pump Pickup

Quick question, has anyone ever pressed in a brand new pick up screen into a pump. Then remove that screen and installed it onto another pump that also once had a screen in it before as well?? My reason for asking is because I'm curious to know if this would hold up and not damage anything and fitment remain sufficient....
P.S.
I damaged my pump while installing and do not trust to use the pump so I want to use the same screen on another identical pump that I have an extra of.

No not me but after the horror stories I hear about the "pressed on" type, I went out buying the "bolt on" type. Do yourself a favor and have a few tack welds on the "pressed on" type onto the pump to be on the safe side.

X2 on tack welding, it does not happen very often but they do fall off.

Well I have a standard pump by melling and the only fitment for a standard volume pump is the press on. The high volumes have a bolt in but I was recommended to not use the high volume because I was told a high volume is recommended for bigger horses.

Back in 1972 I lost a fresh built 425 because the pick up came out, Thought with the pump in the bottom of the pan it would work EVEN WITHOUT pick, Get a NEW PICK UP good insurance.
