Oai

I don't consider myself an ignorant person ( tho my wife might disagree ) but I've seen the acronym OAI and was puzzled as to what it meant. anyone want to enlighten this old guy?

most commonly referred to the 1970 - 1972 fiberglass hoods or late 60s under bumper scoops. Olds called their ram air set ups on their cars, like the ones under the 68 bumpers or the 70 hoods, OAI

Started in '66 with scoops *in* the bumper, in '67 with scoops above and below the the parking lamps. Was even used for the W34 Toros including '69 and '70 when they didn't even *have* OAI.

Of course, the ironic thing is that most Oldsmobiles built after the mid-1970s also have factory O.A.I. My 1984 Custom Cruiser has a factory fresh air hose from the snorkel to an inlet in the core support.
