Looks like I see John Troxell's Vista Cruiser in the house. I remember John Troxell, Paul Mayo while racing at Atco, Maple Grove, Cecil County and Englishtown Raceways.
Some photographs of our car's before we envisioned their future value.... Paul Mayo's Vista Cruiser. And Paul's convertible after Paul decided to leave me in "pure stock" class.
We began racing at Atco, Maple Grove, Cecil County and Englishtown. Paul and John Troxell advanced to the Nationals. I hope you enjoy a few "back in the day" photos.
I'm always amazed when certain NOS parts are entered back into circulation. I can understand an NOS bumper or **** but how does one find an NOS 60 year old battery? These are the stories I love to hear and, to me, really add to the preservation / restoration of a car.

Glad you asked. Paul knew that I needed a battery for a few years. One day after work I get an email with a link. I click on it. It’s an NOS battery. Located in Orange Beach FL. Guy would not take pay pal or any type of electronic payment. After digesting the price I asked my friend in Jacksonville how close Orange Beach was. Answer, 15 minutes. So now I had a guy to PayPal. And he agreed to pick it up.
I call the seller, he’s 87 years old. Ex FBI, now retired. He lived in Metro Detroit in 1964. He bought a new 64 GTO from Royal Pontiac. He also purchased a spare battery. Which he never used. His grand daughter discovered it in the garage while helping him clean it out.
Peter met the seller, brought it to Carlisle and handed it off to my friend Tom. Who delivered it back to Michigan. The first time it was installed in a vehicle was Friday afternoon. Dated to my dec built 442. And doesn’t have the scallop on the base for a wedge retainer. It’s a legit NOS Delco DC-12 from 1964.
The car was badass. His dad knew a few folks at Royal.
They wanted to buy a 421 Catalina in the summer of '63...the folks at the dealership said to wait a few months...there was a new car coming out.

That is awesome! Here's my tribute to Royal Pontiac
