Launched the Rocket

Finally finished my Olds. 5-year restoration. I took it for a shake down drive a week ago and all ran good. Decided to go to the Sleepy Hollow car show on the Sunshine Coast last weekend.350+ car. All makes and years.
Much to my great surprise I won 1st prize for 73 and newer stock class. What a fantastic honour to be recognized for all the work I did. Glad someone else liked it too. Here are a couple of picture of my 77C/S 403. My wife actually drove the car to the show as I was driving my 32 Ford roadster hot rod.
The Olds I have owned since new and the Ford has been in our family for over 60 years.
Thanks for all your guys help over the last years to get my car "just right"
I remember telling Murphy 77 I took apart a perfectly running car because I wanted better. Looks like my vision was right

That's amazing, quite the reward for hard work. That is a beautiful ford, amazing story of it being in the family for over 60 years

Thank you for the kind words. I was the only 77 Olds at the show but there was a 62 starfire ,a 72 442 a couple 50 era Olds and a 71 C/S.
My Mom and Dad were married in the Ford! I could tell stories for days on all the adventures the 32-77 have been on. The 32 was a magazine car back in the 60,s. Have all the old copies of it in Hot Rod , Car Craft and a couple other too. I drove the Olds all through my late teens, 20 and early 30's. Being a family focused Forum I will leave those tall tales for the cocktail bar.
Thanks again
Mike
