L74 QB code

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine of my 1970 Cutlass S and have discovered that it is an L74 QB code engine. How should I best document this for future reference as the cam will have to be replaced? Or is it even that important since it needs the rebuild?
The drive train is original to the car.

Assuming you validated that by pulling the specific QB camshaft? Curious, what's the build date on your '70?

I'd take pictures of the removal, camshaft on the bench, etc.

There's also a QB specific group on Facebook if you're interested.

Thanks for your reply, the engine has the 859 camshaft and the carb is the Rochester 7040253 which I understand was put on the QB engines.
The car was shipped April 29, 1970.
I will look into the Facebook page, thanks for the info.
