Nope, sorry Guy but if it's aftermarket - take it back and complain. At least ask for a straight across replacement. 69 is a real PITA to get in behind and remove stuff isn't it?

That's not good news. They haven't been customer friendly about exchanges of anything lately. The same tach is also sold by OPGI, Year One and BAP at much higher costs tho. Rob Young rebuilt his PP tic toc tac for a different reason a while ago. He knows his stuff. Maybe you could PM him and explain your needs. He's really good with explanations.

Thanks Guy! No worries, my name gets spelled wrong a lot. Doesn't change who I am though. It was a great day and the weather here even cooperated to make it better!

Thanks Eddie, you have about 15 years to go to catch me! Trust me the time goes by pretty darned fast. Doesn't feel much different though except for the joints are not as limber.

The Saga continues!! I jerry rigged a sun Pro tack up so I could watch both tacks at the same time. What I found was that the TT tack was about a grand higher in rpm and erratic the Sun was rock steady. The TT tack is bad!!! so I called up the parts place and told them of my findings. They told me to send it back and it will be replaced Great!! but now I got to pull out the defective one and install the new one. To anybody looking to replace their gauges or tacks TEST THEM FIRST it will save you a lot of work and a lot of cussing and swearing. I hope this helps out someone else in he fuure.

Guy, I'm really glad you're getting it replaced without any hassles. Are you returning it, period or exchanging it? If you're returning it, better to be prepared - they will charge you a 'restocking' fee. (not sure but I think it's as high as 15%?) Maybe hold off installing the Sun Pro till you get this straightened out?

Cool, just didn't want to see you get burned. Did PP give you a pre-authorized shipping or COD to send it back at their expense or do you have to do that yourself?

I didn't get a return authorization from them. It cost me 5 bucks to send it back. Oh well! They do know that if I get any hassle They will see my not so bright smiling face at their counter. I've done it before and I will do it again I'm about 2 hours away from them.
