POCI has allowed restamped body data plates for years now. That opened the door to all grades of bogus GTOs to score high in marque judging with corresponding increase in "value". It also opened the door for me to leave POCI after 18 years of membership. Wasn't having any part of that and let them know it. But the GTO faction got their way...

So many believe the myths surrounding build sheets it comes as no surprise that blanks are being marketed, the wonder is it hasn't been done sooner.
Despite regular debunking editorials in American car magazines in the UK and collector car magazines in North America many still believe the build sheet is somewhere in their car. Even if they are the latest in a line of owners of the car. Nobody bothered to look for it before?.
If the build sheet was supposed to be in the car it would be in the document folder supplied with the new car.
Perhaps buyers will pay more for a car with a build sheet, genuine or not.
Nobody ever lost money underestimating human gullibility.
Roger.

I never understood the need for fake window stickers, build sheets, or whatever. So you're printed up a "window sticker" that shows all the options you added to the car when you restored it. So what? It still isn't original.

Though I've been fortunate enough to find a couple of build sheets/broadcast cards that were still in the car. Not everyone looks everywhere

I haven't checked under the entire carpet in the car I have. Only pulled it partially to peek under it in some spots. Now that's going to be someone else's treasure hunt. Seat backs already searched though. The rear seat was the goldmine. When I spoke to a guy at Nationals, he said the different locations had different colors to the text. I didn't know that.

I have 3, pretty sure 4. The 4th one is under fuel tank, its stuck there. I cant get it out totally without lowering the tank. But from what i can see from it, it looks like an build sheet.
Also i personally found one behind passengers side door-panel.
And got 2 when bought a car between the car documents. Those 2 which i got between car documents, are not in perfect shape, another is actually pretty rotten, but the one i found behind door-panel is perfect. Am i lucky?
Each of those 3 i have on my hand has identical information.
Should lower my fuel tank at winter to get the last one completetely out. Tho chances are its pretty rotten too.

Inline, build sheets are common starting in the 1976-1977 and newer build years, but for Lansing built cars prior to that, they do not exist, at least none have ever been found, as Lansing was know to dispose of these sheets and not put them in the car. They were never intended to be put in the cars.

Brand-new blank build sheets for six bucks don't shock me that much.
What really shocks me is this:
"I have a couple build sheets removed from the same car. One is in good condition because it was tucked under the dashboard the other was under the carpet on the floor board so it is in not great of shape. It was removed from a 70 chevelle Malibu two door hardtop that was a light yellow or cream color with gold interior and vinyl top. The car had a 307 with automatic transmission"

Old build sheets from somebody else's non-desireable car, which has been junked?!?
For a hundred clams??

The audacity (or stupidity) of sellers doesn't bother me. For that matter, stupid BUYERS deserve to be separated from their cash.

The creativity required to even conceive of this as an item to be sold, never mind the audacity to set a price of $100, just astounds me.
I think I'll go down in the basement and find some old pipe fittings or rusty nails, and list them.
