My preference is J C Taylor.... I presently have five vehicles insured with them.... All of the vehicles have full coverage and there is no charge for the liability portion of the policy on the 4th and 5th vehicle as long as I have comprehensive and collision coverage......

No bad things about them but I have never made a claim... No many conditions - just must be pleasure only.

I've been using Grundy for years, but never actually had to make a claim. Most important is using a company with agreed value policies. You don't want to be holding the bag, explaining to the insurance adjuster, why your 40 year old car is worth $30K, if something happens. These policies, do require you keep the car in a locked garage though. They'll also be wanting pictures, and proof of a daily car insured through a major carrier. Grundy does have daily car insurance now, but don't know much about it.

Yeah it sounds wrong doesn't it? You'll probably have to get your car appraised to validate the amount they will cover though. Up here I pay 152/year for full replacement cost on the cars appraised value with no depreciation. Almost like back in the good old days isn't it?

When you think about it, how many claims are actually made on collectors cars. Car's mostly in the garage, driven occasionally. Add in, most probably have security systems. Also, $25K's really not much of a deal, as just about any late model car's gonna be that.

I'm just thinking right now of the poor folks who got slammed by hurricanes in Ohio, Kansas, Kentucky??? Although the most important thing is the people are ok, there's lots of news videos showing how destructive those winds are. Buses, motorhomes thrown around like toys. Houses? nothing left. So if someone down there had a vintage stored in their garage, it's likely there will be more than a few claims this year. Also remember when Andrew and Katrina hit? Tons of flood damage and property losses.

I think we overlook some of the reasons we insure our cars. It's not just for the driving or theft aspect, it's also about the powerful destructive forces of nature.

I've had hagerty for 2 years now. Haven't had a claim. My 1972 Cutlass "s" with a 350, bucket seats and auto in insured for 14,500 I think, agreed value coverage. I think my bill was like $136, including the hagerty roadside assistance thing.

Not sure how many cutlass "S"'s are worth 14,500 or more(probably not many), but that's the value they agreed to.

full coverage car insurance can easily be made for collective cars. But insuring collective cars can be hard decision to make.

I deleted your link, Rockburner.

I'm not sure if it was an autolink generated by this website, or if you did it.

Either way it doesn't belong in this thread.

As you were, men. Carry on.

I've been with American Collectors Insurance, Inc., P.O. Box 8343, Cherry Hill NJ 08034-1020 for 9 years now. They've been great but I've never had a claim, either! It costs me $800/year to insure 4 collector cars with a total agreed value of $118,000.

I use Grundy too but I never had to make a claim. They were recently bought out by the Philadelphia Insurance Company. It has become more involved now to add/renew cars to your policy. Not sure how this will effect the way this company does business, handles claims, etc.
