Hi . I am trying to ID a motor in a 65 F-85 only # I can find is #991917
Also a Posi rear #16A41 GM 00 212 . From a 70 Cutlass .
any help is appreciated .

Where did you find the 991917 number??? Block casting number for 64-66 330 engines should be 381917... Any chance you are possibly reading the 38 as 99 for the first two numbers??? Casting number is located next to the oil fill tube...

 

How about we back up. Is this engine a V6 or a V8? Where, exactly was this number?

Yeah, look again. That's actually 381917, which is a 330 block and correct for a 1965 Cutlass.

 

UR right , poor eye sight was 381917
