i need a lending hand

This should be in the wanted section BUT! I think what im asking for is a bit diffrent. Im buying a good running 307 but it has no carb im kind of in a bind. Im just sticking this in the cutlass untill the new engine gets built so i can atleast cruise through the summer . I need a stock qjet that would work on a 84 307 im willing to pay for shipping and pay a bit but im shooting for a freebie or a loaner . If anyone can help me out spread the word i figured id post here since the wanted area i think is more for people looking to make a buck. My budget is tight and paying for a carb that will cost me what this engine will cost me is not the best thing to do .

I have an old q jet I pulled off of my truck... Unknown origin as I never had the gumption to run the numbers on it. It was on a chevy 307, but that size motor was never offered in my truck and the q jet was never offered on said motor. Recently got rebuilt with a carb kit- but after the swap it got rained on in the bed of the pickup so it might need another rebuild. Ran okay just never got good gas mileage. Has a funky combination of electric and hot air for the choke. If you want it its free if you can ship it from CA. Not the greatest example so I wouldn't blame you if you want to keep shopping around a little bit. Good luck

Around here, you can find qjets on craigslist for as little as $25. Probably about what round trip shipping will cost on a loaner carb. Anything you get cheap/free will need a rebuild, so plan on an extra $40 for a kit. Check to see the shafts have not wallowed out the holes in the body. Also check the inlet fitting that screws into the body is not stripped.
