Hurst Shifter threads fine versus coarse

Any idea what years Oldsmobile 4 speed hurst shifter used the coarse thread and what years they used the fine thread? Or was it a different criteria all together?
thanks

interesting as I replaced my 1966 442 shifter which was course threads with an exact factory restored 66 shifter that I now see is fine thread, so I need to get a fine threads black ball.

I think someone along the way used a die on my old shifter, as the metal sleeve that screws onto the shifter is fine thread and above it is coarse, so the sleeve is permanent now.. crazy..

Buick and Olds generally used fine and Chevy/Pontiac used course,
I guess when you paid more for a car you got more threads?

Thanks for that information. I've wondered why so many coarse-thread shifter ***** are sold for our cars. Now I see it's the suppliers' old, "if it fits a Chev, it fits your Olds" mentality.
