help identify this engine
As you may know, I inherited my 64 j88 from my grandfather after he died. The vehicle has been restored once in the 90's, but j want to make sure i have the original engine engine in from the assembly line here in barstow. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

The quickest clue to a 1964 330 is #1 heads, with some very late production 1964 330 getting #2's. Also look for water pump will have the lower rad hose nipple on driver side of car.
But, those could have been put on a later engine. Look between intake manifold and water pump and you'll see a set of numbers and letters. Post those and we can ID your engine.

Looks like a small block Olds to me. As to whether it's a 330 or a 350, I can't see the oil filler tube (which could conceivably have been changed anyway), so I can't tell.
As Raider says, the block casting will tell whether it's a 330, but there is no way to know whether it is THE 330 that was originally in the car.
You can tell whether one of the heads (should be the Right one, but they sometimes get swapped over half a century) came with the car if you have the Protect-O-Plate, as the number on the front of the Right head (or back of the Left head) should match the engine number on the Protect-O-Plate.
