Hands
Well it has been 2 weeks since my right hand was done and 1 week for the left. Back to doing everything that I could do before only with out any pain or numbness. Gotta love that Dr. So maybe I will get my car done this year

Good to hear. Wishing you a speedy recovery and back to full use of your hands asap. I hope you talk to your car so it knows you still care

So no side effects at all? Hows your strength?
What exactly did the doc do - open up the 'tunnel' more or cut the tendons in your wrist?
Glad he did you well and that you are doing great also. Keep us posted.

Hands
Both hands are great. No pain at all.Even running the orbitol sander doesn't bother me. What the doctor does is make a small slit in the palm of your hand. Inserts something( I wasn't watching) to cut the tunnel wider so the nerve isn't hitting it anymore. The whole process takes only 4 minutes. You can hear him cutting tunnel. The only thing you feel is a little pressure when he does the cutting. All I can say is that it is a lot safer being around me when I am using a hammer. It doesn't fly out of my hand anymore.

Congrats on the new hands!
Did your hands cramp up easy while gripping tools before your procedure? Mine do and on occasion some of the hand muscles would cramp/lock up and make my hand looked deformed. Pretty painful when it happens too.

The doc that wanted to do me had planned to cut some tendons in my wrist to relieve some pressure on the nerve. That did not sound right - I thought making the tunnel bigger was the real solution.
Sounds like that doc needed to get hit with one of your airborne hammers....
Great to have heard about this!

I sometimes have the same problem, it's why I tell the younger guys to use the right tool when working, say tightening the fixture on a mill with a brass hammer instead of your hand. Of course they don't listen (neither did I)!
