I've said this several times on this website. The 1970-1972 Cutlass Supreme Coupe is the best looking Cutlass ever, in my honest opinion.
Not as aggressive looking as fastback's for sure. And I don't think muscle touches work all that well on it. (huge tires, angry hood, etc) Although I think the rear spoiler looks good here. And the aftermarket rims look great on it.
Um... Really?..
Is this April first?...
Am I being set up for yet another rant about wings/towel racks where they never came? I will try and keep it zipped. Black under body looks like crap. Same for the black painted grilles. I do dig the Dairy Queen sponsored interior though!👍🤐🤣
Good thing for variety, things would be pretty boring if not for individuals who go their own way. I enjoy looking at this stuff, good cheap entertainment!!
I agree with the April 1st comment. Don't even know where to start. Maybe the could have mounted spoiler closer to the convertible top. Lol. Run don't walk away from this one.
Where's Joe when you need him? 😁
I have a few questions for the experts about this car....
>The washer bottle is black, and should it not be clear/translucent for 1970?
>The rear view mirror does not seem to have the map light; this car would have come with the Y60 pakage which has the map light rear view mirror, right?
>The dash gauges have been blacked-out; in orginal state they would have had a chrome-like finish?
Sorry - I guess I'm in the minority here - I'm pro ram air hood and wing for all 70-72s whether they came with it or not - meaning including convertibles and Supremes. In my opinion they look "naked" or like they are missing something without them. I own examples of each - my 71 442 convertible and my son's 70 Supreme. A pic of each below. I love them both and couldn't imagine either without the ram air hood or the wing. Oh and my 442 is not painted yet but someday when it is, I'll be keeping the W30 stripes on my non W30 442. No W30 emblems just the stripes. I can't stand the skinny little non-W30 stripes. I know this group hates those too Feel free to hate away. To each his own I guess. On a positive note for you guys who hate on everyone's Olds that's not how you like it - they are BBO and SBO respectively. No LS motors here

Hmm call me a wing guy. Both are wing cars and Oldsmobile powered.

Not knocking the wing. They could have at least put it inthe proper place. Not halfway up the trunklid.

Not critical; trying to learn.
You are correct on all counts. Lots wrong with originality on this one! Plus washer bottles were on passenger inner fender on 455 cars.
Walking to grade school had to walk by an orange Judge few months later a guy in town buys a Daytona after that any car that had a wing was cool, still are. I had to draw the line with pickups having a wing.

So my point is there wasn't a proper place. They were not EVER available on a standard 442 convertible. Period. So where is the proper place? They were available only on pace car ragtop's. The Oldsmobile convertible body lines are super unique. Why in the bleep would you want to break that up? Now damn near every fool has to over restore a car and put shi on there that never was available. I get people can do whatever they want with their cars. The wing looks like 💩 damn near always in my eyes. You don't have to agree. What happened to people restoring their cars to how they came?

I have zero problems with Any car that came from the factory with a wing. Zero.
71OLDS... Plenty of people like them. That's why you can do whatever with Your car. I give you props for doing what works for you.
Oldsmobiles look naked to so many because damn near everyone puts one on. Growing up around these cars I saw ONE... One factory car other than a Hurst Olds, Pace car or Rally 350 with a wing. A factory wing doesn't even mate up to the body on a Supreme or ragtop trunk lid / deck lid. Your cars look great.
I too love the hood. Can't imagine building a 70-72 A body without one if I were going custom and not stock.

Thanks for the kind words. It's all good. Bottom line is we all like what we like. I appreciate all the Olds out there that are still around. Even the ones not done the way I like.
Exactly. I owned a 71 442 in that green. I absolutely love White and Blue Oldsmobiles. Your car looks great. White stripes look great.
Oldsmobile people have always been different. You know how many times people gave me crap for driving an Olds? My 70 SX was ugly as could be. Still had a 455 buckets console and a 2.56 posi. I always said: Let's run 'em. I will always love an Oldsmobile. Your cars look great.
