Boxing lower control arms

Not to hijack the thread just a quick question... About to install posi rear in my 72cutlass convertible in the next month. Is it worth boxing the lowers and adding sway bar? Installing bored and stroked 350. Thanks guys

Kitfoxdave,
Yes,now is a good time to do that.Do a bushing upgrade as well.Either some type of urethane or polygraphite.Even new OEM rubber ones would be better than the 40yr old ones in there now.

Absolutely, the rear sway bar in particular is a big improvement. The boxed lower arms and harder rubber bushings help too, not as much as the sway bar itself, but they still help.

A couple of the resto houses offer both boxed ams and the boxing plates by themselves.

If you can weld, the plates can be had for about $25 on ebay.

edelbrock,ho racing, malibu performance if ho and malibu are still open can really help your handling and tractions needs for a dam good price, plus sway bars. 1 and three eights thick. there kit works excellent.

The uppers are supposed to torsionally flex. You don't box them
