Big book binding
Big book binding
I am having the hardest time with the simplest thing.
Everyone knows how their large manuals just fall apart - especially the reprints! I use report binders for the ones that are already drilled, and that helps. a bit.
I know there's some kind of binding reinforcement thingy out there. The parts stores use them to hold the part books together and hang on the rack - remember when that was every store?
Anyway. What are those things called and where in the world do you buy them?

They're also pretty expensive (though sometimes you can find them at swap meets).
Has anyone here tried just bringing the manual to a print shop and asking them to re-glue it? I can imagine they'd probably shear off the old glue then apply new glue and a new cover. Shouldn't be too expensive.

You could separate the manual, punch the holes with a three hole punch and then put the pages into a binder..... I also believe places such as Staples or Office Max could punch the holes for you.... IMO, it's a reasonably cheap fix if you are only using the manual for reference purposes and not part of a show car display......
