'69 H/O on Evilpay?

Item number 250807494281 in the description the guy states the engine and trann is matching numbers and the car is all original. But then he states the original "mortor" broke a ring 22 years ago. However later in the description it states that it has a 71 "442" in it? Interior looks nice except for the aftermarket radio that I hope he didn't butcher the dash to install. Overall it seems to be a solid car considering what they could realize at auction in restored condition. But as far as just putting 10-15 k like he states, it would probably be closer to twice that. Any thoughts?

There sure have been a lot of '69 H/Os on Ebay the past several weeks, considering only a little over 900 were built a whopping 42 years ago. They all seem like legit cars too.

FWIW

According to Kurt Karch [The 69 H/O advisor for the OCA] There are probably about 500 left on the planet.

He [and I] believe of those 500 or so left there are more a/c cars than non a/c cars.

Because

a] They weren't as likely to be raced/crashed and b] Because the non a/c cars were most likley to be sold up north where the salted winter roads take their toll.

Oh I know these cars are super rare and one of my personal faves along with the 68 H/O I only wish I could afford this one to give it the attention it needs. I loved yours and only recently did I catch that thread where it caught on fire and Achmed(spit) was only worried about his station and the fuel truck. That was heartbreaking to me but at least it was saved from the boneyard. My thing with this one is the spelling throughout and the reference to a 71 442 cube engine in it . I would figure that with a car worth as much as this, he could at least spell and or know what a 455 is. IMHO. Just sayin

For all the work this car needs, I'd start well below 30K to buy it. In fact, I have tried (previous high bidder on ebay--reserve not met), but the owner wants high 40's. Too much (IMHO), unless you can do everything yourself.

No doubt IMO you are right. Right at or below 30K max in the condition it is in. I wonder what is the deal with the black paint under "some" panels?? I guess if someone wants it bad enough and $$ is no issue then we may see this car again restored to it's glory.

Dan Macal's is for sale at around $30k. I don't know the condition or any history of the car:
