Is there any way of finding out what particular car an engine came from?
The engine in question is a 403 # 557265 Block and the vin on the left side of the bock is 37M440012.

We can help you get closer: "3" = Olds, "M" = Lansing, and "7" = 1977. Some one on here probably knows the rest: What Olds models were mfg in Lansing in '77 and with VIN derivative starting 4.

Apparently in 77 they were found under the hood of Cutlass , 88 , 98 , Toronado , and station wagon's. Not to mention Pontiac and Buick. Im wondering what car was being built in Lansing in 77. Anyone have any idea?
