1966 Olds Starfire

I inherited the above vehicle it was my uncles car and it was his daily driver until about 2 months ago when he passed. Not really an olds guy but I like old cars so I was trying to see what it was worth, nobody else in the family wanted the car so I took it and brought it home.
He took care of the car very well and the maintenance was always kept up he was pretty **** about his car lol....well here is what the car has

425 CU Ultra High Compression 375hp motor
Turbo 400
Factory Power windows (drivers motor needs to be replaced)
Bucket Seats (drivers seat needs to be redone)
Factory Center console with working tach
dual exhuast
New brakes, wheel cylinders, new booster all the way around
All lights are functioning
Body is in Really good condition (dent in pass door, and front pass fender)

WHAT DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS GO FOR IN GOOD RUNNING CONDITION? I have posted a few pics of the car

Well about 5 years ago I had to sell my restored 66 sfire. It needed nothing and was a great driver. I could only get 4950.00 for it. I do not believe any manuals or books that give prices. Any item is worth only what someone will pay. I think the market has gotten better and would put your car at the 4500 dollar level. Just my opinion.

WHEW that's a lot of Oldsmobile! Looks to be in pretty good shape from the pics.
My non-scientific, just-curious, eBay check found a few other full sized, '66 Oldsmobiles:
- '66 Delta convertible $5400
- '66 Delta - bidding is over $7k
- '66 Olds 98 convert - bidding over $8k

I think if you washed and waxed that sucker, $5-6k would be a reasonable asking price. My $0.02.

Thanks oldsman, the paint is "decent" and could use a buff out for sure, the pics were taken at my aunt's house I drove it home today (58 miles one way) I was surprised how quickly this thing picked up, definitely not hurting in the acceleration dept!!

Unless you have to sell it fast, it may be better if you take your time, detail it, get the seat covered and take time selling it. Drive it, advertise it on free sites, and get a feel for the market. Besides, the more you drive it the better it will run and you may find you like it.

Once again, ASKING price or BIDDING prices on ebay or elsewhere are meaningless. The only thing that matters is when cash changes hands. Most of the cars on ebay are NOT sold. Search completed auctions and you'll see. Even cars that are "sold" often show up again two or three weeks later, so even those "sale prices" are meaningless.

Just a general barometer...not science. (i.e. what other folks may be "asking", which is what OP asked for).

Or realized he had a jem and decided to keep it or just plain given up. Looks like Photobucket pulled the plug on his images. It would be nice, if he would load them back up again

You can get whatever your asking if ou find the right buyer....just because the asking price is high does not necessarily mean the selling price will be. As a rule fo thumb, A bodies are more desireable and have a larger audience then the B bodies...

The larger audience doesn't know what the smaller audience knows. B bodies are more rare and as a rule of thumb, what's more scarce should be worth more

I own a B-body, and a rare one at that, but I'd still have to question where that particular thumb has been...
