I have been looking/following threads on the ID process for he open faced Alternators. I needed to confirm what I have is correct, from posts by 70Post, RocketDevo, Joe and others I “think” this is correct front half for a 69/70 442 application, rear is definitely incorrect. However is it perhaps a correct assembly for the 71 442? Please take a look at pics and feel free too ask any pertinent questions, offer information as you have it
Thanks in Advance,
Brett

Reason: Misspelled
As can be seen the 6 spokes alternate thick to thin, there appears to be no lip, and the fan has sharks tooth, and an obvious predilection to imbalance
Brett, the orientation of the plug terminals shows this to be one of the oddball 1972 "transition" alternators that use an external regulator. Yes, it can be converted to internal, and yes that's the newer back housing.
Joe, thanks for info. I wondered if it was a OE' style assembly or a franken-Alt. But more to my point is the front half & fan sheave correct for 69-70?
