Differential Help

I am looking to buy a rear end from a 71 Z28 (4.11's and posi). I would like to install it in a 74 Omega. The seller state that it is 54" backing plate to backing plate. Mine looks to be 54" also. My quetion is will this bolt right in? Are the leafs springs in the same location? What other problems I am missing? Any help would be great. Thanks

The 68-74 X-body cars are actually based on the first gen F-body (67-69). The 75-79 X-body is based on the 70-81 F-body. This is a long way of saying it's unclear.

The measuring tape and caliper are the key tools here.

All that matters is that the spring perches are the same center to center. If that is the same it will bolt in. You might need different off set wheels though.
