Bucket Seat Conversion

It's been a good weekend so far...just picked up these seats locally for the paltry sum of $40...they're not perfect but can't beat the price! What is needed to do the conversion? I know there are some brackets that have to be bought. How do those line up? Do the seat belt retractors have to be moved? Has anybody ever documented this process? Any pitfalls to be aware of? thanks!!

Good deal on those seats.

I was thinking of putting buckets in my Vista and found these instructions and pics on how to do the floor mounts in a '71 El Camino. It's being done at Hinshaw's Chevelle and he also sells all the parts. A little bit of welding and about 3 hours time is all he says it takes.

It is in an Adobe PDF file format if that matters.

Hi Scott 442,

I am in the process of putting buckets and a dual gate in my 72 442. If you get the assembly manual for your cutlass it will also give you the measurements for the shifter either standard or dual gate shifter. I paid $25 for the assembly manual and it was the best $25 I ever spent for info.

69+ I

I'll have to look when I get home. No wait, I never owned anything but a 69 so It's a 69 unless some one put a different one in one of my 69's before I bought it. [not likely]

How about nothing

Free

That way you won't yell at me if something is missing or a rat ate a wire or two.

Oy gevalt!... such a deal.
Can you post pics of the rat and the wires if it ate it? Any scuffs?

I'm sure that column will work up to '72, my knowledge base drops off after the last good year for American cars.
I think it'll fit in a '68 too, if you can figure out where to stick the ignition key more power to you.
