'69 f-85

My next door neighbor's car that I have been trying to buy since I moved in (6 years ago). I've never seen a lower content Oldsmobile in my life! '69 F-85 Post coupe 2-dr, straight 6-cyl and Bench seat w/ 3-speed manual on the column! Steel wheels, no radio. He bought it off the original owner, an old woman here in NC who drove it all those years, "clutching and shifting"! It looks pretty solid but I'd like it more for the novelty of being perhaps the most stripped down Cutlass around and not really of any value (although it would make a great candidate for a 455/4-speed since the pedals are there!).

I have never seen one of those with a 6 cylinder in them. I know they could be optioned that way, but that has to be extremely rare.

Sorry Erik - I'll try and snap some pics next time I see him!
By the way, I loved your work in Warrant (one of my favorite bands of all time!)

2,899 built with the I-6 - not quite "extremely rare."

Under 3,000 cars originally but how many remain. I would bet that there are not to many and the ones there were around went for parts to build something better.

You don't see to many at shows or cruise nighs. I think it's an excellent nostalgic piece.

Best of luck with the car and I look forward to the pictures.

Hopefully I will get over there this week to see it. I haven't been over there in months and can't see the car from the road so I hope it's still there.

But it would be so easy to add chevy V8 as it already has a chevy bell housing and flywheel! Besides its been chevy powered for 41 years so far. Henry

I had one of those 250's in a 67 Impala. Was really surprised at how peppy it was. Those motors have a good amount of torque and were easy to work on.
