John, I'm in northern Delaware and curiously interested. I'd feel terrible though buying this just for the engine, steering wheel, radio and other parts to improve my Toronado. This is however giving me something to seriously consider.

Chris,

You could easily drive this home, these big hulks are hard to justify resto but many do. Some of them are sacrificed to make others (cars) live. It is unfortunate, but I have done myself. Give me a call.

It would be a shame to part this car out since they are so rare. It is very restorable. The engine is not the correct one for a Toro. They are basically different. They have a different "V" angle and this one has 20 less H.P. then the Toro engine (365 vs. 385). If I had a place to store it, I would probably snap it up in an instant.

I agree 'bigoldscruiser', but I am trying to help a friend keep from the salvage yard..it is way to nice for that demise. I want to see it passed on to another Olds enthusiast.

John,

Can you tell me if anyone has done a compression test or put a vacuum gauge on the engine? I'm curious how drivable the car is and if I could even drive it over the summer.

Aw, c'mon - for a grand just buy it, put a hundred or two into the A/C and drive it around.

Or maybe be a hard-@$$ and cut him down to $500 .

You know you want it...

It's a good buy for a grand. Maybe someone in your area will give it some love.

Chris, I've lost interest in restoring the car. Everything is there. Engine runs but need wires. This engine runs very strong and leave rubber in 2 gear with turbo 400 trans.

The brakes are good, tires are good. its drivable with some work. Oil and other fluids all changed last year. Anyone interested can call me at 301-520-8452. I live in Lewes DE.
I have owned the car for about 15 years. Everything is there. Just needs someone who has a little time. The car has never left me stranded everywhere.. Its sitting on my concrete patio waiting for someone to come take her away.

That looks like a good deal.It still has the cali smog pump on it, too bad its on the other side of the country, and costs more than the asking price to get it back to cali. You just don't see them anymore.

John,

It was nice speaking with you earlier. I hope you had a good ride. I know you had a great evening for it. When you get a minute, could you post up a few extra pics of the car? Things like the rust spots or other body damage.
