1968 Oldsmobile 442

After doing nothing but enjoy it for a few years, I am putting my 1968 Oldsmobile 442 on the market. Some of you may recognize it, as its restoration was documented by another fellow member of this site. Its a great car that was saved from being rotted away and built back to being an outstanding driver. This car was built in the Ontario plant, meaning it has all the rare, great Canadian documentation to go with it. I've included 100s of pictures that I have taken throughout the ownership of the car. The car currently has the dog dish hub caps, but the wire hub caps will also be included. I recently added the white GT stripe. I also replaced the master cylinder (not shown in pictures) along with new fresh oil change. The car drives great. If I had to be picky about it I think it could use minor carb adjustment (I think it just idles too low). Below is basic information information about the car.

SOLD

Its very difficult to perfectly describe a car with just a post so if interested, please review the pictures, videos, and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. The only reason I'm selling this is because I got a great opportunity to own another amazing Oldsmobile and I can unfortunately only keep one.

Not to be a nitpicker, but you need to get the bumpers aligned.

No worries. Its not a perfect car, but its not priced as one either. I'm excited to say I have another Oldsmobile I've been working on its way so I'll drop down to $16,500 even. Great value in my opinion for a Canadian documentation, drive restored, great optioned 442.

More pictures from the last weekend I took it out:

I can't believe you haven't sold this car yet.

BTW, When are you going to tell us what the new ride is?

68's were the epitome of "don't buy a car in the first year of a body style change".

OEM 68 bumpers were crap. Most were in the shape of a frown, probably from warping during the chroming process. They end up too tight in the middle and gaps on both ends, worse on the drivers side. Also, the left front fenders didn't fit the hood. There's always a gap on the driver's side between the hood and the hockey stick trim mounted to the core support. You can see the gap on original 68 factory promotional pictures. I refer to this as "the 68 driver's side droop". People say it's the core support rusting under the battery tray but they're wrong, the issue was there from the beginning. Probably the most glaring screw up is the driver's side peak molding. At the intersection between the drivers fender and the door the 3/8" trim missing aligning with the door by 3/8" to 1/2". EVERY 68 has this problem. You can pick out a car that's been restored from a mile away when they fix this (this car has been fixed). The passenger side is fine.

I've got a person interested here and there, but nothing locked down yet. I just saw this ad (http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/chl/cto/5812175592.html) to compare what people are offering for almost the same price.

I'd like to wait until its in my garage, but I may need to drop some hints soon because I'm so excited about it.
