Patch for driver side core support under battery

Patch for driver side core support under battery

Is there a patch for the piece under the battery tray on the driver side core support...anybody making these?

They used to be available years ago, but I haven't seen anyone offering them in the last decade. I still have one that I bought years ago, and no, it's not for sale.

I took two that had battery side ( drivers side ) eat away, cut passengers side out of one and modified it to fit on drivers side, on the other, and welded it in. That was on my 73. I don't know if both side are the same on yours!

A good solution, but HTF, is the piece from a 6-cyl F85
battery on other side, so LH part of core support usually not rotted.


Or, modify RH section, which is what I did last time, or make up repair pcs from flat stock and time/ skill. May not look the best, but for an ordinary restoration it will serve well.
