Broken dipstick tube in 68 Toro 455
Howdy Fellow Olds Lovers,
I’m in need of your 455 experience. I had a bad day yesterday with my 68 Toro rebuild. I broke the dipstick tube of my freshly rebuilt motor. Unbelievable! I was just getting set to install the exhaust manifold on the left hand side and I’m not sure what exactly happen but all of a sudden I have half a dipstick tube in the block and the other lying on the floor.
So hopefully I can get the piece out of the block without having to drop the pan…cause that would really suck!
I do have a parts car with a the 455 still mostly intact. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the complete unit out of the parts motor? Any help is always appreciated!
I hope this is cool but here is a link to the Toronado site with some pictures of my restoration. Unfortunately that site does not have the traffic or members as this one does.

Thanks, Jim
