Do 1962 and 1963 Super 88 / 394 use the same Starter?

I'm doing part number lookups for a potential starter replacement.

Looking at the Delco-Remy catalog, Remy still manufactures 1960s-type starters, but their catalog look-up only goes back to 1963.

According to their application look-up, the 1963 Super 88 / 394 uses the # 25233 starter, which is currently available in the catalog:

http://catalog.remyinc.com/Product/D...+CC%2c+394+CID

Can anyone tell me for sure whether this is the same starter for the 1962 engine?

My 1963 Chassis parts manual lists as follows;

1959 thru 1963 4 bbl carb exc F-85 , 1962 & 1963 Hi comp eng (2bbl) #1107776

So yes, 62 and 63 starters are the same.

Thanks for looking that up for me.

The good news is that according to the Remy website, they still offer a re-manufactured starter for 1963 as a normal stock item, which means I'm good for my 1962.

I just got an email from Remy Tech Support, Pendleton Indiana.

They tell me that the application for my 1962 Super 88 is the Remy 25233, same as the one used for 1963.

Thanks again.
