Correct code for 65 or 66 14x6 rims

What would be the correct code for the standard 14x6 steel rim from 65 or 66?

Thinking it might be 6, A, R, or 6 A. This would be the rim with a 1.00" offset or a 4.5" backspace, I think. Thanks.

From what I've seen on other posts, and what the assembly manual says for my '68, the correct code is "R".

First we'll presume you mean F85 here. "Standard" throws things off a bit.
The "standard" 14" wheel for '66-'69 was 14 x 5, code A, then XC midyear '68-'69.

The "standard" wheel for the '65-'68 442 was the heavy duty 14 x 6, code R.

Yes I kind of used the standard term to lightly, So then in 65 and 66 the 442 used code R exclusively? I think this is exactly the same rim as came on the 66 chevelle SS and the 65-66 chevelle wagon with HD suspension (although chevy used a different code, in 66 chevy used 2 different codes, then a different one in 67 and changed again in 66, all for the exact same rim, gm 3871919). I was thinking that some of the 65-66 olds vista wagons came with the 14x6 rim with a 1.00 offset As well as some of the f85 with HD suspension. I know I pulled a set of rims off a 67 vista cruiser with a code of 6 A3 that were 14x6JK, with a 1.00 offset, dated 67; but I don't know if they were original.

I was also told that at some time the J-88 also used a 14x6 rim with code A.

I currently have 3 of rims in the garage, code A., 14x6 JK (6" is bead to bead), 1.00 offset, center section stamped gm 64 or gm 65 (Not sure which).

I have also read that some of the Pontiac's, gto for example used the same rim, although the stamped code could be different. Just read last night from a Pontiac restoration guide that they used gm 3871919 for the 64-67 got; but you know there are lots of errors out there on the internet.
