Hi all,
all of you with convertible top, if the top get stuck open, is there any way to lift it by hand (let say it's starts to rain) , can it damage something ?

The steel top frame can be disconnected from the ears of the hydraulic cylinders depending on what fasteners are on the car.
If you have a crescent wrench or 2 in the trunk, you can disconnect the top mechanism from the hydraulic cylinders and pull it up manually.
Then you may need to get an Advil or Tylenol after doing this, since the top and steel works are a little heavy, but I’ve done it and can confirm it’s doable.
Consider this a temporary/emergency fix, but yup, you can do it if you have the right tools.

Essentially, your physical body is replacing the function of the electric top switch. This often occurs if the convertible top switch goes Tango Uniform.
It's actually worse than that, since not only are you having to lift the top frame, but you are also backdriving fluid through the pump. The extra drag requires much more force than simply raising the top, but I was able to do it back in my young and stupid days.
