This is the panel that fits in the gap in the fairing. As you can surmise, the curb made a fairly straight scrape directly across the whole fairing. It could definitely have been worse: I could have had the saddle bags on, and it could have landed on the brand new right exhaust pipe I just paid XXX for last year!
