The wheel choice for the Cruiser.
After great advice on this forum, I came up with a set of wheels for the Cruiser. They are Chevy/GMC truck ralley wheels with aftermarket center caps. I had a local truck customizing shop make black centers for the caps, and put chome vinyl Oldsmobile emblems in the centers. I think they sort of have a factory look to them and are much more to my likeing than the wire hubcaps.

Nice looking! I thought of using C**** truck wheels w/'55 spinners on our '92 Custom Cruiser, but the cost of the spinners negated that idea! I note that a lot of the folks that write into CO have multiple Oldsmobile's; is that part of our problem, figuring out just where to put the money today on which car (we have Big Red/'68 Cutlass Convetible & Silver Bullet/'68 Cutlass Flat Top Wagon & the '92 White Custom Cruiser). Ah, the trials and tribulations of being an Olds owner and connoisseur.

What's also nice about those wheels is they are close to the body color of your wagon which makes them and even better fit.

I thought
hard about the color to paint the wheels, what I used was Duplicolor wheel paint in Graphite. I felt the slighty darker color set off the chrome on the caps and the stainless on the trim rings. Thanks to all for the complements. ![]() |
