54 olds motor and trans fluids
hi , i have a 1954 olds with a 324 and auto trans ,can anyone tell me what kind of oil and trans fluid i shoud be useing ,thanks JOE

use Shell Rotella 15-40 weight great for the older cars. Dex III - Dex V tranny fluid

I've decided to switch from the more conventional dino motor oils to an AMSOIL High Performance synthetic. It costs more, but the oil along with the AMSOIL filter is good for one change a year or 25000 miles whichever comes first.
As for trans oil, AMSOIL also carries this as well, along with many other products good for the older car. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/aro.aspx
