Clutch adjustment

I recently bought a 71 442 4 speed.
The clutch grabs at the last two inches, and that's it.
I was wondering if this is normal and can I adjust it for a better grip range.
Thanks

Clutch pedal free travel is 3/4 to 1". This is the only adjustment.

I like about 1 inch of pedal free play at the top of the pedal. That's the distance it takes when you push the pedal for the throwout bearing to contact the pressure plate.

I don't seen to have much freeplay, if any.
