57 Olds 4 speed auto I dropped it, help
I was sliding the 57 Olds 4 speed Jetaway off the tailgate on a piece of plywood, turned away for a second and it slid off the wood and hit the garage floor
It landed on the torus bowl? i think thats what it's called ,it bolts up to the flywheel
it was on it's side, some fluid came out about a hand full
Question should you be able to wiggle that piece in & out? or is that the way it is?
it was raining out, a down pour should of covered it and waited till later -
should of - should of it doesn't pay to rush thing some times
Thanks for any help

What i was referring to earlier, the correct name is torus cover assembly - the piece the flywheel bolts to
thats what hit the floor first then the cast iron case
any guys had this a part? the torque converter does not have any play just the torus cover

Glad you bumped it. I intended to respond, but I lost it.
All Jetaway Hydramatics had 4 speeds.
Yes.
Like with a torque converter, the slack is there to compensate for any possible dimensional differences, between the block, crank, flywheel, torus cover, and bell housing.
Possible, but very unlikely, that a 3 ft drop would have damaged anything.l
