Flexplate interchange for 455
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but will a Pontiac Flexplate interchange with an Olds 455? I'm asking because I'm trying to use the convertor I have with the 4L80 I picked up while I test and tune the car. I thought with the Pontiac having the 6 pad flexplate it would help a great deal. I'm going to have a convertor built, but the won't be right away.

I can't answer your question but it would help if you had an Olds flexplate to compare it to. Remember, it is more than just seeing if the bolts line up. The flexpate is counter balanced to the engine rotating assembly, so if the weights are in a different spot or are heavier on one side it won't work.

I was under the impression that all the holes needed to be bolted, but now I see where some Buick guys have used only 3 of the 6 bolts. It'll only be until I get my converter done anyway.
