TH 200 4R TRANNY SWAP HELP!!!

I have an 82 Cutlass which required a motor swap. For reasons I'm too embarrased to display I had to replace my th 200 metric transmission also. I ran across a th 2004r transmission out of a Pontiac Parisienne so I slapped that into the ole Cutlass. I thought I was all good to go but I cant seem to find a column shifter linkage that would work. The 200th metric won't work, and the 2004r wont work. Please help!!!

The 200-4R was a factory-available option in your 82 Cutlass, so I'm curious as to what exactly doesn't work? Are you talking about the linkage rod from the steering column tab to the trans, or something else?

Yes, I'm talking about the linkage that comes from the steering column. Does it matter that it came from a Pointiac Parisienne?

If this is a B-body Parisienne, it might matter. Your original rod should work, however.

Smile Zippity do dah

I have found that the easiest way to fix WOT problems is to remove my big foot from the throttle...

Well,
I know that that isnt the promblem. When I floor it...thats when it shifts right. When I try to drive it like a regular car it doenst know when to shifit between gears. I installed a new WOT linkage, but I'm pretty sure the internal components of the transmission are jacked. I unscrewed the WOT kit to see how the pin would move. I assume it is supposed to move in a up and downward motion...but it doesnt quite move like that. I can wiggle it all around the hole lika a joystick. But it doenst move up and down....so I never hear any audible clicks. Know anything about this??

I have no idea what a "WOT kit" is, but if you are talking about the throttle valve cable, it MUST be adjusted properly for the trans to shift correctly. Failure to do so will destroy the trans eventually.
