Horizontal Shock Absorbers for 66-70 Toronado

What are you guys using out there to replace these?

You mean the old knee action shocks right? I am going to fab some perches on the axle and some mounting plates on the frame to use modern cylinder type shocks on my '48. Just in my head, haven't gotten that far yet but that is what people have done in the past.

Opps, now I see there is more to your title, for 66-70 toronados. Disregard my last statements, don't think they will help...

Not Sure about "knee action" shocks.....on my 70GT Toronado, it has 6 shocks 2frt, 2 rear and 2 rear Horizontal
shocks......looking to replace these.......can't seem to find any listing for Horizontal shocks. Saw a pair of nos ones on ebay... www.ebay.com Item#290043722897

Yeah, never mind, my mistake. Knee action shocks, not long and cylinderical but sort of like a lever off of a box that has some sort of coiled spring inside, weird. The called them knee action because the worked like a person's knee.

12 years ago or so (time flys) I located these shocks. All I have is a 1986 brochure. The company ... AIRSHOX.INC 2317 N. 15th St.,Philia Pa. 19132

Fusick has (or did have) these shocks. I bought a set from them about 5 years ago.

Post 66-70 Horizontal Rear Shocks

Hi, As far as i know, they are no longer available on the market. I had the change to buy a NOS Set of them on Ebay a few years back, but paid a horrible price for them. Also there is a Steering Damper for the Front, and some people try to sell them as horizontal rear shocks also, don't have the AC Delco parts numbers in front of me, but will post them soon as I found them.

try these guys

Years ago I looked for a set and was told about "shock finders" I called them up and they had em. I dont have the number anymore sorry.
