WMW reinforcement

Has anyone seen the november 2009 issue of popular hot rodding? It has an article on a 435 horse olds 307. It uses a reinforced main web setup that was kind of interesting ( and would have been helpful 2 months ago while my 403 was out of the car!)>

That much power out of such a small motor, why all them horse's and I rather still have a 455. I would like to know how much they spent to make that power. More than most people send on a whole car.

I would like to know the rules for this build. Was it a stock stroke and bore? What kind of RPMs out of this little motor? I need to pick up that issue, I guess. 435 hp aint bad for a 307. I still like my .40 over 455 though.

It uses a 330 crank and the guy said between the intake and the heads he used 10 pounds of epoxy. It made 430 tq @4600 and 435 hp @5900. These guys are canadian so what else do you do when everything outside is -10 dgrees?

Heck, only -10? Us Canadians would stilll be at the beach water skiing or having a patio party. When it starts to get really cold, we go inside and watch videos of fireplace logs burning. Makes everything seem really cozy and warm. We don't cheat by using plasma tv's though, they kick out way too much heat and would be distractiing.

Aside from a border, it's not all that much difference between car guys. Temp is irrelevant when you're working in a heated shop, right? I give these guys credit for innovation.

435 hp?? Holy crap!! 430 lb/ft of torque? Out of a 307? I want that engine for my next barge.....

According to Weird Al Yankovic:

They live on donuts and moose meat,
Leave the house without packing heat.
Don't even bring their guns to the mall.
You know what else is too funny,
their stupid Monopoly money.
Can't take them seriously at all.

Dale is a member here and other Olds forums. He is "gmrocket" We discussed this in another thread, here,
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...7-engines.html

A custom engine like that has so much time invested that it is really hard to put a price on it. Both Dale and Bill (BTR Racing) are at the 2009 EMC right now, good luck to both of them!!

Tooooo funny Jesse!! That's pretty much why they call him "Wierd".
BTW, When we pack heat, it means we're toting logs in for the fireplace - LOL.

But our monopoly money is easy to figure out - it's color coded and has pretty pictures on it. Hey, last time I checked the stock ticker, the $C was trading at .9456 US. Not bad, not bad at all. With it being high, I can order some of those big ticket items from the good old USA at almost par. Shipping's still a beeatch.

The only ones you can take seriously though are car guys!
